Tuition and Financial Aid
Allegany College of Maryland strives to maintain the lowest possible tuition rates -- thousands less than at many schools -- while still offering a quality education. The college achieves this by putting its money where it matters most: teaching and learning. When available scholarships, loans, grants and other forms of financial assistance are taken into account, an Allegany College of Maryland education is very affordable and within reach of virtually everyone. The fact that Allegany College of Maryland and its three campuses are close to home for the bulk of our students is a further savings, helping to ensure that the dream of a college education becomes reality. For those beyond commuting distance, the tristate area's moderate housing costs help keep expenses in check. More than 60 percent of Allegany College of Maryland students receive some form of financial aid. Last year, the college disbursed more than $5 million in funds from local, state and federal programs. Because so many depend on it, Financial Aid Office staff members are well informed and do their utmost to help. Another important campus source of financial assistance, especially of locally sponsored scholarships, is the Allegany College of Maryland Foundation. Interested students will want to review the "Foundations and Scholarships" section of the college Home Page. |
