College Overview
Welcome to Allegany College of Maryland.
We're glad you've called up our Home Page. We think you'll find it informative and user-friendly as you explore and learn more about Allegany College of Maryland and how it can benefit you, a friend or family member.
First, some background about Allegany College of Maryland:
- We're responsive -- Our associate degree and certificate curricula and our continuing education courses and programs are designed according to what students want and employers need.
- We're comprehensive -- We offer education and training for prompt application in such areas as business and industry, technology, health care and human services. Other programs ready graduates for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
- We're quality -- Our students and their employers tell us so. Objective indicators like student success at transfer schools and in national exams prove it.
- We're affordable -- Tuition is reasonable, thousands less than at many other schools. And financial aid is available in the form of academic and need-based scholarships and state and federal grants and loans.
- We're convenient -- Our Cumberland campus is in the heart of Allegany County in scenic Western Maryland. We also operate campuses in the Pennsylvania counties just to the north: Bedford (in Everett) and Somerset (in Somerset).
- We're accessible -- Affordability and convenience combine to make higher education accessible for people with limited time, due to work and family obligations, or limited finances.
- We're personable -- We're well-known in the tristate area for providing students personalized attention and a caring and supportive atmosphere. Small classes, a low student-to-instructor ratio and helpful faculty and staff all make it so.
